Separator Increases Water Recovery by 85%

Eriez showcased HydroFloat Separator technology and its capability to help mining companies meet sustainability goals. Combining the benefits of density separation with the selectivity of flotation, HydroFloat, in combination with advanced dewatering processes, can increase water recovery by 85%, decrease energy consumption by up to 20%, increase processing capacity by up to 35%, and increase gold recovery by up to 6%, Eriez reported.

The separator recovers particles more than two times coarser than conventional flotation cells. Other benefits include increased bubble particle collision rates, decreased turbulence and detachment, and more. It can reduce the amount of fine tailings and water sent to storage facilities by 30% or more, the supplier said.
