TOMRA and Sitec Quartz Inc.

Ian Turner, president of Sitec North America Inc is talking about the advantage that TOMRA colour sorting does for his company. “The challenge was finding enough quartz of the same colour. Rarely we’d have pure veins of the same colour. They would have striations, and veinlets, and variations of red to grey to black within quartzite formations. So we took the plunge and sent material over to the testcenter. TOMRA’s R&D group did a marvelous job impressing us with the separation that could take place with our quartz. On that basis we committed ourselves to the first unit and we grew from there….”
